creating a summary report using subtotal


To create a summary report using subtotal follow these instructions :

Place the cursor in any cell on the Database Sheet.

Short Database on DEPARTMENT field in ascending order.

From Data menu select SUBTOTALS.

Or click on SUBTOTAL at the middle right of the OUTLINE option from the Data tab.

A dialog box will appear.

At each change in dialog box select DEPARTMENT, at use function select SUM, check Replace Current Subtotals, check anything at the add subtotals to field and check Summary below data.

Click on OK.
