filtering a database


To filter a database follow these instructions :
A filtered list displays the rows that contain a certain value or rows that meet a set of criteria, while temporarily hiding the other rows. Auto filter meets most needs. However, when you need to use complex criteria to filter a list, use Advanced Filter.

Place the cursor in any cell of the Database Sheet.

Click DATA from menu option, select the FILTER and click on Auto Filter.

Or click on FILTER at the middle right of the SORT & FILTER option from the Data tab (drop-down controls on to the field names will be placed).

Click down arrow in field name(s).

Select required field criteria from the drop-down menu.
