using range name in functions


To use range name in functions follow these instructions :

First create the following table.

Now Select the cells B3 to D3.

Put the cursor at the Name Box at the bottom of the Clipboard option of Home tab which shows B3.

Write the name 'Dhaka'.

Again select the cells B3 to B6.

Put the cursor at the Name Box at the bottom of the Clipboard option of Home tab which shows B3.

Write the name 'Male'.

Give the Range Names in this process.

Now calculate the total people in Dhaka. Click on E3 cell. Enter the Formula =SUM(Dhaka) or =SUM(B3:D3).

Calculate the total Male in Bangladesh. Click on B7 cell. Enter the Formula =SUM(Male) or =SUM(B3:B6).
